Choosing the right health and well-being coaching program is a deeply personal decision—especially when it’s tied to one’s journey of healing and growth. As a cancer survivor and now a health and wellness coach supporting cancer patients, Ed Jones wanted the best training to serve his clients with expertise and compassion. That search led him to Duke’s Health & Well-Being Coach Training, a choice that transformed his life and coaching practice.

What inspired you to apply and register for the program?

Ed Jones, Graduate of the Duke Health & Well-Being Coach Training

I am a health and wellness coach for a program that offers coaching to cancer patients. I am a cancer survivor myself, so we offer a unique perspective for our clients, given my past cancer diagnosis. I wanted to provide my clients the very best, top-tier health coaching, and the NBC-HWC licensure gave me that opportunity.

I researched several coaching programs over four months, and Duke’s program stood head and shoulders above all the other programs and organizations offering training in this area. The Duke program and training made me a complete health coach.

What would you tell someone considering applying to the program?

I would tell them that Duke University’s program is the country’s most comprehensive health and wellness training program. If they are seeking NBC-HWC licensure and certification, Duke’s passing percentage is the best in the country.

How are you using the program in your life (personal and professional) today?

I can now offer my clients the best health coaching services in Texas, and my Duke training program has enabled me to continue to grow as a health coach and provider.
