A regular and ongoing practice of mindful awareness can bring more joy and improved health into your life. Research shows that mindful awareness leads to lower levels of anxiety, depression, anger and worry. Practicing mindful awareness helps your body as well as your mind. It can ease chronic pain and help you to cope with the stresses of daily life. The practice can be done in any position that is comfortable for you; sitting, standing or lying down. Find a quiet and private place to practice at first. You can begin with just five to ten minutes at a time and gradually increase your practice to 30 minutes or more as you become comfortable.
